What is the difference between an oral presentation and a poster presentation?
Oral Presentation:
- Presented in the main halls of the congress center.
- 10 minutes + 5 minutes Q&A.
- Evaluated by the jury.
Poster Presentation:
- Presented in the pre-determined foyer area of the congress center.
- 3 minutes + 2 minutes Q&A.
- Evaluated by the jury.
Who is responsible for selecting the topic of the abstract, conducting the research, and writing the abstract for the congress?
The authors of the abstract are responsible for all of these steps.
Can I participate in the congress as a student from a faculty other than the faculty of medicine or as a graduate student?
Undergraduate students studying in the faculty of medicine can participate as passive participants (listeners). However, undergraduate students from other health sciences/basic biological sciences and graduate students in institutions/institutes affiliated with the faculty of medicine can participate as active participants if approved by the Evaluation Committee.
Can I apply for both oral and poster presentation with the same abstract?
Participants can choose their presentation format as either poster or oral presentation, or both, via the active participant application form. However, the Evaluation Committee may request changes in the presentation formats of studies submitted as oral or poster presentations.
Can I apply with multiple abstracts?
Participants can only apply with one abstract as the responsible author who will make the presentation. However, they can participate in multiple studies as a co-author.
Who is responsible for the preparation and printing costs of the posters?
The participant is responsible for all costs related to the preparation and printing of posters, as is the case with the writing and submission of abstracts.
What is the language of the congress? Can I make an oral or poster presentation in English?
The language of oral and poster presentations can be Turkish or English, at the participant’s preference.

What are the criteria for abstract acceptance?
Abstracts will be evaluated by a predetermined Evaluation Committee based on the following criteria:
- Scientific merit
- Originality
- Clarity of writing
- Relevance to the congress theme
When will I be notified if my abstract has been accepted?
Authors will be notified of the acceptance of their abstracts by email on or before April 21, 2024.
What are the guidelines for preparing an oral presentation?
Oral presentations should be no more than 10 minutes in length, followed by a 5-minute question-and-answer session. Presenters should use PowerPoint or Keynote slides to illustrate their presentations.
What are the guidelines for preparing a poster presentation?
Poster presentations should be no larger than 1 meter wide and 1.5 meters high. Posters should be clear and concise, and should include the following information:
- Title of the study
- Authors
- Institution
- Background
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
What are the prizes for the best oral and poster presentations?
The top three oral and poster presentations will be awarded prizes at the Closing and Awards Ceremony on May 5, 2024.
